Pioneer China Relocates to Center of Shanghai
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – On August 4, Pioneer opened its new office in the prominent commercial district of Xu Jia Hui in Shanghai, China. The new location promises to better position the Pionneer team in booming Southeast Asia, and to cement already existing supplier relationships.
The office - located in the landmark City Gateway – is Pioneer’s sourcing and procurement hub. More than seven staff members with expertise in the regional markets will oversee the sourcing process, and coordinate similar efforts at Pioneer’s headquarters office in Jeddah.
“The relocation of our sourcing and procurement office to such a central location,” Akram Bandar, Pioneer managing director, said, “was the next natural step to ensure both our competitiviness and our industry leadership. As Pioneer continues to grow in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, we recognize that we must continue to evolve our presence in these regions.”
The China office, headed by Merchandising Manager Eileen Yang, will be responsible for handling price negotiation, quality assurance and overseeing orders, shipping and logistics with Chinese vendors and suppliers. The team will additionally oversee sourcing with vendors in Hong Kong, Taiwan and thorughout the Far East.
“The new office will provide a dynamic work environment and support our team in providing competitive pricing and enhancing sourcing capabilities. We look forward to continuing and expanding on our relationships with prominent and reputable Chinese suppliers and partners,” said Bandar.
Amongst the world’s largest manufacturing powers, China’s overall growth has averaged a robust 7% to 8% for more than a decade. Pioneer also has offices located in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dubai.
